Your salesman should have showed you that lol. I locked myself out of my car somehow before and had to do that.

Had no idea. That's kinda cool, and super helpful in case something like this happens.

My salesman didn't show me but I did make sure to read the manual. Nice to see a video demo in action though.

Salesperson doesn't show that kind of stuff... he/she is more interested with the sale. They'll pitch about the features and benefits, but not really training you on the car.

Perhaps, you need to go to a special training for that. I know Stevens Creek Lexus has classes for new owners to teach you how to use everything.

I learned that from reading up the many threads about dead battery in keyfobs

LOL!! I did that today at the dealer. Was looking at an ISF IN THE SHOWROOM and I wanted to start it to hear the exhaust. Found the key in the cupholder, tried to start it but it said "key not detected". At that point I remember that they disable the fobs to avoid theft, so I held it up to the start button and started it. My husband had this WTF look on his face, and I just smirked.

"I learned this from Club Lexus!"

He just stared at me STILL with the WTF look on his face.

Out comes the manager and he looks at me with the same look. I just said: "Oh I know how to do this with no battery".

When i sold Lexus i used to get phone calls from people in your same position all the time....you would think the seller would tell you (assuming they knew).
