What year is your wife's RX350? We have the 2013 RX350 and the filter element is the same as the one for the 2006 IS350. Yes, the part numbers are different on the box and I believe the RX350 package comes with the plastic oil drain. Check the filter element and gaskets to see if they are the same.

Hmm strange, her RX350 is 2011. The last time I changed her oil I took out her filter element and was about to use one of my leftover ones from my IS350 and the size was totally different. I had to run to the auto parts store in the middle of her oil change to pick up a Napa Gold filter.

Here are some pics of the RX350 oil filter vs. IS350 filter. RX350 on the top. As you can see, the IS350 filter is much longer.
