hi i have burned DVD disk with v7.1 for gen2/3 which has updates up to 08-09 i personally use 1 of those and i works perfect no problems at all i actually sold a few of those and some for gen 5 and they all works same as the original disk but they dont cost $300
i sell it for $50 a DVD i ve been using mine for 3 months now and it works like a charm. Let me know if you are interested.

SOMEPLACE, i have a gen 3 version 8 or 9 disc.....everytime i have tried to sell it though i cant find it. let me look again this weekend.nothing wrong with it, i converted to a gen 4 after my gen 3 ecu fried so dont need it and its in perfect working order

Not trying to steal thread but how can I find out what version navi I have? My navi doesn't work anymore, just noticed I bought the car with a burned navi disk

supposedly the 01's dont work with burned discs as an FYI. I made a back up and threw it in and didn't work. but the original does.

that was my result as well. i burned using 3 different media types on 3 different DL burners, in every combination on 1x burn speed, and results are sporadic at best. it will update to the new version, but once that happens, you can't use the factory (older) disk anymore. the best result i received was that it works, but then it will read disk error at random times while driving (this is provided that the disk was read properly when the vehicle started).

if i can't buy a disk from someone by end of weekend, i'm just going to bite the bullet and purchase a factory 10.1 disk.
