Default SRT Intake w/ RACE ECU - Heat Shield - GS400

I have a SRT intake from my old GS400 and the RACE ECU as well for sale, both items must go together. The Intake is in great shape with a few scratches on the bottom ( as seen in pic) which you'll get anyway and is not noticable once installed. It has been painted with black. The ECU has enough length on the wires for an easy install. 290.00 shipped

Custom heat shield made by one of the members from CL a looong while back. Constructed out of airplane alluminum and coated with 3M foam on the inside. Keeps the engine heat away and also does shield some of the noise. Exterioir is perfect and the insterior near the pipe entrance could use a new coat of foam, which I do have extra. 115.00 shipped

Pm me if you have any questions, thanks.

Do you have the original SRT heat shield that comes with the intake?

Just curious, but would this intake fit the LS430?

Wow, I forgot it came with a shield. I'll have to check my storage locker and update the thread. but for now, it will be just the intake and ECU. Thanks.

Not sure, but the ECU is for a 400 engine, so I would say no go there. You'll be better off with a generic intake....

I was under the impression that the electronics for this intake are to be soldered to the wire harness of the main ECU for the car so that it can change the fuel map to match the increase in intake volume for a more efficient combustion.

Basically, Mamono is correct. The stock ECU has ignition/fuel maps for the stock intake and resonator. When you increase the diameter of the pipe/air flow, you need to increase fuel and adjust ignition/timing. The SRT ECU was hacked by SRT and provides different maps to work with their larger intake. I would recommend getting both the intake or similiar diameter intake to get the most out of the ECU.

On a personal note, the car ran richer with the RACE ECU.

Also wondering if a power gain was noticed, with the race ECU.. and how difficult is the wiring? Plug n Play? Wire in several wires? etc.. Thanks!
