steve, anyone, can any of you guys get me a stock GS front bumper? When i get the new front bumper my little light washers that some of you have wanted will go for sale as well. I need a new one because its taken a beating and is no longer shiny, any body kit front bumper would look ugly without lowering and wheels so i'll just settle for stock for now.

Hm..
I think it could be close, plus half the reason i wanted a new one was because of salt, pebbles that have engraved into the paint, my mom drives on the highway about 2 hours - 4 hours a day, plus when there is snow its even worse! So i think a new bumper would be best.

wooh that's harsh! If you do get a new bumper, you'd have to prep and paint it... a new bumper including paint job would maybe run you aroud US$1,000-1500... at most.
If you dont have a total crack/tearing of the polyethylene panel, I'd say, you'd be better off having a bodyshop do a quick bodyfill/sand and repaint for much less than it costs to get a new one... It seems as though your car will have to endure this type of weathering for the rest of its life... are you prepared to dish out this kind of money every once in a while?
But if there is extensive damage, the poly panels cannot be repaired... and you do actually have to get a new one... check out a body shop and get a quote... if it is more viable to get a new one, by all means, get one... I wish I had that much money to burn! anyway, good luck...

P.S. I'd give you my stock bumper but I havent yet bought my RMM kit yet.. and I dont know how much the shipment is from the middle of the pacific ocean to canada!

i wish i had that kind of money to burn too! i just remember the Lexus guy sending me a fax saying a new front bumper would be 300!?! or maybe that was the chrome strip.. Lexus is CRAZY i tell you CRAZY, i dunno i'll go to a body shop, then if nothing i'll go to lexus, then if nothing i guess i'll have to buy an aftermarket one and live with the ugly look, or live with the pain that my car has felt.

Sasha,
if it really is 300, umm.. whoa... go for it... is that including paint? I doubt it... but check again... that sounds like a goood deal if it is true... but then again, if you paint it, it will cost around another 3-600 dollars if you have a 3 stage paint (which includes all metallic paint of lexus) good luck

Paint
Paint job should not run you more than $150 (at least here in PA). Don't go to the dealer to get it painted unless you want to pay $$$$. Get an aftermarket body shop to do it.

Heh.. sorry, i was going by Guam price...everything here is totally inflated... if you can get the bumper for 300 w/ paint... or if it is 150+300=450, Go ahead!... that's a good price I think? Just suggesting you check your options with a bodyshop... they should know what theyre doing and tell you if you should replace or repair... Good luck!
