well without going too crazy for a torque converter look into Precision Industries Dragon 2600 stall TC. Will free up a good amount of power, causes your engine to rev to 2600 before the tranny engages.
as far as cams, I doubt anyone still makes a mass produced set, I believe the 400 guys used Brian Crower cams, but poke around the internet and you're all set.
