They all come chromed. The factory covers the chrome with paint which I removed from the face of the vertical ribs. I think the quality is very good, of the work that is.

do a search for DIY chrome grille. The subject has been discussed many times. If you don't feel like searching or DIY'ing let me know.

Hi, Since this is a DIY project, I was wondering if the chrome paint would chip off? and how much would it be to ship from your location to zip code 92507? Thanks, i'm interested.

Default Chrome grille

The chrome will not actually chip off, as it is what it is made of. The dark color is a paint coating that they use, so basically this means that the grille starts out as a fully chromed piece, then the entire face is painted over with the gray finish. if you ever notice, the back of it is sometimes chrome/silverish. You can do this chrome yourself, but it will take a while as you have to carefully rub the hell out of each individual slat/rib with paint thinnner/remover. It's very time consuming and tidious... I hope this helps.
