Ok I just received the MDX antenna in the mail. It shipped Friday from Florida and I just received it today so that's pretty quick. This guy "locustoms" (you can google him) only ships Monday and Fridays I guess. Here are the pics I promised. It turned out exactly as I envisioned... it's angled probably about 2 degrees towards the car, but I rather have that than angled away from the car.

Reason: Updated Pics.
just installed the shark attack II from locustom today. It is a great little antenna, still have to wire the 12v, but no big deal.... The only issue I had was it should come with a big washer and a lock washer instead of the nut they supply. The hole is big and a lil difficult to get it secure. Mine ended up angling away from the car at 10 degress, I like the look a lot though, and no more annoying sound from the trunk when i switch radio to CD or off.....
is there a noticeable difference from shaving the thing completely to having this thing?
i pref dont like either one, but this is def the lesser of two evils for sure
and how much would it cost to either shave or do this?
thankyou in advance
My antenna motor was going so it made this horrible sound everytime I would turn on/off the radio. I just unplugged the power to it and pulled the antenna up a little bit. Reception still seems to be the same. Maybe you can shave it and put one of those interior glass antennas like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...9116709&rd=1,1
Not sure how much it would cost to have the antenna hole shaved, but make sure it is welded if done.
Those aren't that great. I dunno.. I uplugged mine and got sat radio. That together with ipod, MP3's, and music dvd's in my car keeps me pretty happy!!
