its a shift lock so when your in drive you don't accidently bump it into manual shift

interresting, i never tried to put my finger in that little hole to push the button when i was driving before.
I will try it out tomorrow on my way to work.... hopefully i don't crash and die in the process

the button is to take the car out of park without a key you can still bump it into manual

I was driving with a buddy who has an auto and asked him. He told me and pressed the button and it stopped it from going into manual. I'll let him know his stuff might be jacked up. Thanks for the info. I have a manual so i don't have that problem
