Default need help! gauge went out

well yesterday at work, when i tried to start my car, it died on me. looking at the battery i notice my positive side cable was loose. after wiggling the cable, my battery came back on,. when i started the car everything was fine but the thing is, i notice that my speedometer gauge went out!!!! what u guys think i should do? i tried checking my fuses to see if it was it, but i wasnt!! can u guys help me out? what should i do?

Begin by thoroughly searching the forums. A while back someone had a similar problem where the fuel and temp pointers went off-scale after a similar incident. I believe the problem was solved by disconnecting the battery for some time (1/2 hour?) and reconnecting. See if you can find that thread. It may help. Good luck.

yup reset the ecu... remove the battery or the fuse

Disconnect your bettary for 5 mins and reconnect everything will work fine.

the same exact thing happened to me........only difference is that my positive wasn't loose, the battery was actually dead....after i got a jump start and was driving home i noticed my speedometer was dead....AND my odometer was frozen, i tried disconnecting the battery for an hour and nothing....if you find the fix to this let me know PLEASE!
