I did the roof rack removal when I bought my RX and gave mine away. Now I want them back. If anyone has some extras I will take them. :-)
Look up and phone any and all salvage lots out there / Auto Wreckers / Wherever vehicles go after being written off - See if any 330 or 350 Rxs . . . then go out with tools and take what you want. I'd negotiate on price as well - or try, because who needs RX roof racks. I'd be surprised if any of these places ever sold 1.

Hey Gascon...I don't know how I missed your post. I totally would have done that. However, I actually bought one from the junk yard a few days ago. I am posting some pictures of it in the "What have you done to your RX today" thread because I want some opinions.

Ok I just pulled mine off my flint mica and freakin love it. So, for now I have no kit and am going to pick up some bolts, but what should I use to glue down the rubber strip that's there now? silicone?

Make sure those bolts stop water getting into the holes. If you don't wet and stinky carpet. I would suggest the kit. If you have a sunroof and you have removed the roof racks I would seriously suggest to get your drain holes checked out as they too can cause a lovely wet and stinky carpet. I speak from experience here.

Thanks. I will teflon the bolts and may get the kit, but I am just wondering about the rubber strips that are there, that are very loose on both ends but seem fastened in the middle. Can I/Should I glue them down, and silicone then ends that are now open so water cannot travel under them? Or does water need to travel under them to reach the drain holes? Thanks again!

OK so I Gorilla Glued the far back two pieces as they clearly only are held by a small track when the rack is off... but I will wait to hear some more input as to the other pieces.

Meantime I bought some short flanged bolts and it looks like they need to hold down a gasket to keep a seal, but you probably don't want to crank them down as hard as you can...

We'll see but so far, you can't really see the spaces from ground view, and it's cost me $6.75 so far...

Being a new RX owner I want to at least take off the inner crossbars so I'll give that a try, but has anyone made a diy solution without buying dealer parts? I'm not going to order the panoramic pieces and what not since it's not that big of a deal to me, but just curious. I saw that owner club thread and it sparked my interest.

This my 2007 RX. If you go to any Lexus dealer they can order the plastic rails.

Where did you get those running boards?

Default found a place online to buy the kit for decent price

I know it's a late post but I recently needed to remove the roof rack due to the paint peeling off and looking terrible. Thank you Kendig for taking your time and resources to help me with this DIY. My search online for the kit revealed that average cost were $80. One dealer website charged real cheap for the parts but the shipping was $50! I found an online store partsouq.com which is based in Emirates! I wasn't sure about this but online reviews seems like a legit business. The price was $41.33 (maybe they will charge foreign fee) and arrived in a week through Fedex. The parts are still overpriced in my opinion but the cost is half of others even on ebay. hope this helps someone save alittle.

Do note that the bolts are set really tight (perhaps with locktite). You might also want to bring a towel as I found a lot of dirt inside the channels.
