Viva Las Vegas! RC F Instagrammer Thrives in the Desert Sun
Back in 2018, one Lexus sales rep stepped up his game with a red RC F. Today, it rolls with golden knights and raiders in Sin City.
Back in 2014, Lexus dropped one of their most powerful coupes upon the marketplace: the RC F. Turning up the heat on the then-new RC, the F variant brought a 5.0-liter V8 to the open road, delivering 467 horses and 389 lb-ft of torque to the rear via an eight-speed automatic. If you can’t get an LFA or an LC 500, the RC F is the next best thing.
And if you’re a Lexus sales rep, then you really can’t go wrong with an RC F as your “work” vehicle. Instagrammer David Tran (a.k.a. dtran_rcf) is such a rep, working at his dealership in Las Vegas. Though he usually splits time between the desert and Minneapolis, the pandemic’s got him rolling with golden knights and raiders in Sin City these days.
The red RC F is his newest Lexus, purchasing it in early May of 2018. Prior to the purchase, Tran owned a gray ES 350, trading in his old Nissan 240SX nearly a year earlier. He also had a black IS 300 back in the day. Yet, he caught the RC bug in March of 2016, having seen a red RC 350 with Rocket Bunny fenders.
Since the purchase, Tran’s upgraded and customized his RC F to the hilt. The stock wheels were swapped out for Volk TE37s, the stock hood for a Seibon carbon fiber unit. The stock exhaust got drop-kicked for a throatier set from Invidia, and the whole thing got bagged for extra lowness. The result is a slammin’ Lexus which gets all of the photographers’ lenses everywhere it goes.
He’s also not afraid to take it off the Strip for some burnouts on the drag strip. Specifically, the one at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where he faced both a Nissan GT-R and a Honda Civic Type-R. Though the GT-R left Tran and the RC F in the dust, they made up for it against the hot hatch.
All in all, Tran’s Lexus is one badass ride. And since he’s hashtagged us a few times on his Insta, we can safely say we’ve witnessed him.
