Twenty years ago, Steven Spielberg created an adaption of Philip K. Dick’s story, “The Minority Report.” He worked with the Lexus design studio in California to develop an advanced vehicle for the year 2054. A Lexus owner himself, Spielberg, wanted a car that looked futuristic but included realistic technology. The result was the Lexus 2054.

More than just futuristic looking, the Lexus 2054 runs on fuel cells and includes features like biometric security and autonomous self-driving. It’s equipped with an onboard infotainment system that selects music and responds to voice commands for navigation and tasks like ordering meals. Visually it captures current trends like low-profile tires and small LED lights.

The Lexus 2054 is still more than 30 years away from being built. However, it uses technology we have today. In that respect, it’s far more realistic than the flying cars in “Blade Runner” or the Johnny Cab in “Total Recall.”
