Take a Drive up Pikes Peak with Justin Bell and the Lexus IS 350 F SPORT AWD
It’s unsurprising the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is America’s highest motorsport competition, but at the ripe old age of 97, it is also America’s second-oldest auto race.
The inaugural champion, Rea Lentz got up the hill in 20:55.60 using a home-built car powered by an airplane engine … that was pretty fast for 1916. This year’s champion and record-holder, Sébastien Loeb, got up the hill in 8:13.88 using an 875-horsepower Peugeot 208 T16.
Find out more about the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb’s illustrious history as Justin Bell takes you up the mountain in the 2014 Lexus IS 350 F SPORT AWD.
