Lexus Raises $100,000 for Charity by Putting Santa and His Elves on a Race Track to Showcase the Power of its RC F GT
Have you ever wondered how Santa can deliver so many presents all around the world in just one night? Well, fortunately, Lexus was recently pondering that same question. In turn, it inspired a fun viral clip called “Santa’s Hot Lap” that is as cool as snow.
Lexus’ official test driver, Scott Pruett, recently dressed up like the big man in red for the charity stunt that benefits Toys for Tots. Filmed by Lexus Vehicles, the clip shows Santa using a Lexus RC F GT to test his elves to see if they can hold up with their boss during his speedy trips around the world. (Keep in mind, when it comes to speed and power, this is no ordinary “sleigh.” The Lexus RC F GT Concept is an RC F on a diet that was designed to compete in the IMSA’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.)
Riding shotgun during a hot lap in a high-performance car for charity? Sounds easy enough, right? Right — except Lexus threw in a catch.
Lexus’ Santa offers each elf a chance to read scream items off of a long wish list out loud while being rocketed and tossed around the track at full speed. For every item read, Lexus promises to donate $1,000 to Toys for Tots.
The participants fought the g-forces, the quick transitions, the hard braking and the urge to close their eyes and find their happy place, and ended up raising $100,000 for Toys for Tots. (It was a tough job, but someone had to do it, right?)
