Russian Mechanic Massages Wrecked NX Back to Life
Skilled body man does some amazing repair work on a Lexus NX.
Body work is truly an art form. If you don’t believe us, just try massaging a bent panel back into shape sometime. Proper metal repair takes a steady hand, a lot of patience, and oftentimes a lot of experience. Arthur Tussik, a Russian body man, has all of the above. We know this because Tussik documents his repairs on his YouTube channel, and they’re all fascinating to watch. Including his latest vid, where the recipient of his craftsmanship is a Lexus NX.
The sad and neglected SUV made its way to Russia via California, and it picked up some rust on those damaged panels along the way. In addition to the damaged pillar and door areas, the NX comes in with a bent frame as well. But unlike some of his past videos, Tussik actually uses a mix of new parts and panels from a donor car on this Lexus. In some of his past work, we’ve seen him doing things the old school way. As in, beating panels back into shape with a hammer.
But even though he takes the “easy” road on this repair, Tussik still uses what appears to be his Grandmother’s blanket to protect the interior while cutting pieces off the car. The whole thing is a great demonstration of what it takes to bring a wrecked car back to life. And for those who are experienced body men, it’s cool to see it done in somewhat of a grassroots setting.
