Mint IS-F Built for Speed and Ready for a New Owner!
Formerly a Club Lexus build, working from home reduced seller’s need to hold on to IS-F, features RR Racing tune and carbon fiber.
Fall is finally here. That means looking for a new (or new-to-you) Lexus for all the errands around town. Where do you look first, though? Before heading over to your nearest Lexus dealer, why not see what the Club Lexus Marketplace has to offer? From bone-stock IS-Fs to upgraded RCs, you’re bound to find the Lexus you seek before calling up the dealership.
One such Lexus for sale on the marketplace right now is a 2011 IS-F down in Orange County, California. But this isn’t the IS-F’s first appearance in our forums. Once upon a time, it was a Club Lexus member’s build.
“Not in a rush to sell but working remote now,” writes jspecvtec. “Haven’t driven much at all last 1.5 years and don’t really need a daily driver anymore. Looking to upgrade to just a weekend car. As-is for now since I’m too lazy to part out.”
The seller acquired the Starfire Pearl IS-F in the middle of 2014, posting up his build in the forums the day after Valentine’s Day in 2016.
At that point, it already had 2014 headlights and 2013 wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The biggest upgrade for the Lexus, though, was the RR Racing tune. Once installed with the aftermarket exhaust, the car’s 5.0-liter V8 made 418 horses and 396 lb-ft at the rear wheels.
The biggest upgrade inside occurred in June 2017, with an aftermarket carbon fiber wheel taking the place of the original. Lexus themselves replaced the dash and door panels in 2019 over a recall, though the seller’s IS-F’s original units “weren’t really bad.” Of course, one of the final upgrades made to the Lexus involved the wheels and suspension. RAYS CE28SLs wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sports held the corners, and a set of Ohlins improved ride and height.
It appears the only major challenge to the build involved a different set of aftermarket wheels. The wrong color was sent, as the intended shade had been discontinued. Luckily for the seller, one of our vendors, Meraki Autoworks, took care of the wheels for him.
Though parting with this Starfire Pearl IS-F is such sweet sorrow, perhaps it’s a dream come true for you. Plus, the seller could find his next Lexus the same way you found this one: through the Club Lexus Marketplace.
