LFA Doing Smoky Donuts Isn’t Even the Best Part of This Goodwood Vid
When a car video starts off with a gorgeous Lexus LFA doing huge, milky donuts, and that’s not even the best part, then you know you’ve got some high-quality Friday afternoon entertainment.
Have a gander at effspot‘s footage below, shot at this week’s Goodfood Festival of Speed. If you’ve been following the Lexus news coming from the annual British enthusiast event, then you know what footage you can expect to come after the LFA. Well, after a racing-prepped RC F has a proper go first.
But after that, it’s onto the grand finale: Lexus’s yet-to-be-released new halo car, the LC 500, making its European debut. At just about 1:45 in, you can see the striking 2 +2 at the starting gate, apparently worried more about sending plenty of smoke towards the heavens than getting off the line quickly. What a noise!
Though that RC F is likely a custom job under the bonnet, it’s still interesting to hear how its exhaust note differs from the LC, since they both share the sameĀ 5-liter, naturally aspirated V8 engine. In the LC, that’s mated to a newly developed 10-speed automatic to produce 467 hp and 389 lb-ft of torque with a 0-60 mph time under 4.5 seconds.
But that LFA may just sound better than the both of ’em, especially while filling up the lovely English countryside. You know, on second thought, maybe the LFA donuts are the best part of the vid. What do you think?
(Careful, there’s a little NSFW language as the crowd can’t quite contain their excitement.)
