Lexus Previews Next LS With New LF-FC Concept in Tokyo
Lexus is trying to be wild and sneaky at the Tokyo Motor Show. Our favorite Japanese luxury brand wants to make you think that they are merely looking at new design ideas and possible directions for the future, but this sexy and sleek LF-FC Concept is our first look at the next LS.
The concept itself makes use of some of the most advanced technology Lexus can get its hands on, including the forward-thinking and eco-friendly hydrogen fuel system from the Toyota Mirai. As you would expect from a flagship of this kind, all the power from the hydrogen drivetrain is sent to the rear wheels, but there is an extra set of electric motors up front to make the car AWD. Lexus says the design of this concept ensures that the layout of the various drivetrain components has been created for maximum space and handling dynamics by keeping weight low and centrally mounted. The profile has that modern four-door coupe shaping, and Lexus wants to make sure this new flagship can perform as well as it looks.
Inside you will find the same level of impeccable luxury and design that Lexus is known for. The front cockpit is designed to create a great driving experience, while the rear seats are designed to be as comfortable as possible with reclining functions, and there is plenty of open space.
As always, we are going to start digging in to see if we can find out just what pieces from this incredible concept will be making it to reality in the next LS. Keep your eyes here and we’ll be sure to update you.
