Extra! Extra! Black Panther Uses Lexus to Fight Crime!
Lexus will feature 2018 LC in Black Panther film and comic book.
As far as modern films go, there’s no studio more successful than Marvel Studios. For the last 10 years, Marvel has ruled theaters, releasing over 15 hit films. So, when The Hollywood Reporter says that Lexus has teamed up with Marvel Studios to partner with their upcoming Black Panther film, it makes total sense.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lexus has formed a partnership with Marvel that extends from film to print, and even includes a party at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The first step is featuring the 2018 Lexus LC in the Black Panther film due out in February. Accompanying the film’s release will be an exclusive graphic novel from Marvel Comics that will feature the LC, with superhero Black Panther utilizing the car to defeat a villain. Obviously, this is a win-win for the carmaker, which will expose their luxury car to millions and millions of potential customers.
‘The LC’s aggressive styling, high performance and agile handling are a perfect fit for the Black Panther’s quick, cat-like reflexes and superhuman feats.’
Brian Bolain, General Manager of Lexus Marketing, says, “Marvel continuously captures audiences through charismatic characters and inspiring stories — the ideal fit for Lexus’ mission to craft amazing, engaging experiences. And the LC’s aggressive styling, high performance and agile handling are a perfect fit for the Black Panther’s quick, cat-like reflexes and superhuman feats. We’re excited to see the duo in action.”
The last part of the deal is an invite-only party at this week’s San Diego Comic-Con, which is the biggest event of the year for Marvel Studios and superheroes in general. DJ Lulo Café and a mystery performer are announced as providing entertainment for the shindig. While it hasn’t been announced, you can probably expect one or two Lexus vehicles to be there as well.
“Black Panther” tells the story of the titular hero that rules the mysterious African country of Wakanda, the most technologically advanced country in world. The film is part of the record-breaking “Avengers” franchise that has grossed billions of dollars worldwide.
