Lexus All-Wheel Drive-Thru Makes No Sense, But It’s Still Rad
While you might find yourself getting hung up on the “why” of the Lexus video below, perhaps a better method would be to just let the awesomeness of it wash over you.
For some yet-to-be-determined reason, a new Lexus spot features a makeshift drive-thru restaurant way up Le Massif ski area in Quebec. At the beginning of the spot (shown below), we find out that “Lexus AWD handles winter in style,” and that to prove this point, they held a test drive and “elevated a drive-thru to 2,644.”
No word ever arrives how a remote drive-thru proves that point at all, but we do get a ton of great snow driving footage starring a number of different AWD Lexus models, all rooster tailing around and through hills, moguls, and trenches. It’s darn near amazing in motion.
All that awesome is followed by a stop at our ultimate destination: the drive-thru. And yeah, it looks yummy. And yeah, the hashtag is clever: #LEXUSAWDTHRU. But why the heck is a drive-thru on the side of a mountain? I guess because that is somehow handling winter in style, but I’m still really confused.
Whatever, the point is, I also still want an AWD Lexus to go schralping around in the snow. Good thing Lexus offers AWD availability on every car in the lineup but two: the CT200h and ES.
