You Don’t See a Lexus SC300 With a 5-Speed Very Often
The Lexus SC300 is not a sports car. It has two doors, yes. It has the same engine as a Supra, correct. It’s low-slung, yes. And it is indeed rear-wheel-drive, that’s true. But this car is a grand tourer. Thus, a supremely large majority of them were built with automatic transmissions to put the power from that 2JZ-GE six-cylinder to the ground. Except the ones that weren’t.
According to the Craigslist seller of this red rover, only 1,601 SC300s were built with a five-speed manual transmission in 1992, which makes this a pretty darn rare vehicle. It has 95,000 miles on it, it has original paint that looks fantastic, the interior looks good, and so do the wheels. The seller also added that he or she has all the service records since the car was purchased new, and it has always been garaged and “maintained to the highest standards.”
For about $10,000, you can get this sweet manual SC300 in good condition with a solid background, and a reliable pedigree. So what are you waiting for? Go get ‘er.
