Bagged Lexus RC F Build Balances Style and Performance

Lexus RC F

Who says a Lexus on bags can’t be a show car, street cruiser, and track day ride all in one?

Few car mods are as controversial as air bags. But if you truly understand how they work, it’s hard to see any real downsides to bags. After all, they help you slam your ride to the ground, yet lift it up with the push of a button when you need to clear things like speed bumps and potholes. And bagged cars tend to handle pretty darn good, too. So it’s really no surprise that Club Lexus member Lammyyy began his Lexus RC F build with an eye toward balance.

“I want to clarify that this build is NOT a garage queen show car build. I have every intention of finding a perfect compromise between style and performance so I can drive the car they way it was meant to be driven. Eventually, I’ll take this car to Laguna Seca/Thunderhill with a few other F guys and I am very excited to see what this car is capable of. Hopefully I can build this triple duty street/show/track car that not only looks awesome but handles like it’s on rails.”

As you might imagine, the air bags were the first step in making this dream a reality.

“Setup: Airlift 3P Management + Airforce struts. I decided to go with Airforce because they offered me a price I couldn’t turn down and they were really good to me. Previously, I had Tein springs, which if I’m being honest, was not what I was looking for. I considered coils but they lack the ability to adjust height on demand.”

After that major mod, the OP went to work on a few smaller items. That included a set of carbon fiber mirror covers, a shifter boot with red stitching, Artisan Spirits fender ducts, a DCTMS shift knob, ARK Grip exhaust, and RR Racing USRS. All little stuff that adds up to some really big differences in this way this Lexus looks.

From here, the parts just kept rolling in. Next, the OP painted his brake calipers and added a C-West trunk lip. Then, with the help of a friend, he tackled the exhaust. After that, the OP did some detail painting of certain parts, including the engine cover. Since then, a couple of carbon fiber parts have arrived, including a sweet new steering wheel.

And that’s exactly where this killer Lexus RC F build sits as of now. But you can bet that there are many, many more mods to come, including a new set of wheels. So head over here and stay tuned as this awesome bagged coupe progresses toward show/track status!
