A Variant for Everyone

The Lexus UX is available in 2 different powertrains: the UX 200, and the UX 250h. The UX 200 models include the base model, the UX 200 Luxury, and the UX 200 F Sport. The UX 250h is also available in the same 3 tiers.

Available Powertrains

The UX 200 isn't very sporty. And neither was it intended to be. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine that gives 169 horsepower. The petrol-electric hybrid variant in the 250h churns out 181 horsepower. This helps it get from 0 to 60 mph in 8.6 seconds. The 200 comes in second at 8.9 seconds. Here, Lexus prioritized flexibility over power.

A Corolla Underneath

The Lexus UX shares quite a bit with the new Toyota Corolla Hatchback. This includes the petrol engine and CVT technology equipped in the UX 200. The CVT employs a traditional first gear that hands over transmission duties once it has launched the car using the Direct Shift technology. This ensures that the acceleration and accompanying electrification is smooth and refined. The UX is a bit larger than the Corolla, though, with a wheelbase that's 105 mm taller and 125 mm longer.

What's Standard

Lexus fans get a whole range of impressive standard features with the UX. Under the Lexus Safety System+, the UX packs an all-speed adaptive cruise, eight airbags, lane centering, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitor, and autonomous braking. The system also adds night-time pedestrian recognition and daytime cyclist detection. Generally, the overall styling is striking in all trims and the interior features beautiful touches supported by a genuinely capable chassis. The Toyota New Generation Architecture (TNGA) completes the picture under a new name, the GA-C platform.

The 200 and 250h, What's special?

Both entries feature various driving modes, a 10.3-inch display that comes with satellite navigation, 18-inch wheels, keyless start, dual-zone climate air conditioning, automatic wipers, and heated front seats with 8-way adjustment for passengers and 20 for the driver. The 250h offers a quiet and refined drive at urban speeds, making it feel like a fully electric car. There's an "EV" light on the instrument console that tells you when the powertrain has switched to petrol. additionally, the overall quality is something that you'd get in much more expensive cars.

The F Sport, What's impressive?

Adding to what the 200 and 250h have is the F Sport package with adaptive suspension, a leather-accented interior, head-up display, customizable driving mode, special wheels, shift paddles, full-LED lights with self-leveling, and front-seat ventilation. On the S+ driving mode, the F Sport sounds quicker and makes the CVT feel like a 10-speed. There's also a decent engine tone that accompanies the speed, making the whole experience a whole lot of fun.

The 250h Limited

The Limited variant focuses mainly on luxury with its paper-textured panel finishes. An additional sunroof and 13-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system complete the lavish picture. Just like in the other variants, the UX Limited is comfortable to drive and produces little noise on the highway. The AWD system provides extra grip at low speeds or when there's a risk of slippage.
