2026 Lexus TZ Three-Row EV SUV Previewed by New Renderings
We’ve known that the larger, three-row, all-electric Lexus TZ has been coming for years, but will it look like this?
Though global demand for EVs hasn’t quite grown at the same rapid pace most previously expected it to, sales do continue to grow, regardless. At the same time, folks continue to gravitate toward larger three-row electric SUVs like the Kia EV9, which has proven to be a pretty solid seller thus far. It’s been nearly two years since rumors of a similar offering from Toyota’s luxury brand – the Lexus TZ – first surfaced, and now, we’re getting a peek at what the larger EV SUV might look like, courtesy of designer Theophilus Chin, otherwise known as theottle.
Chin conjured up these renderings of what he believes the Lexus TZ will look like, based on the Lexus Electrified SUV Concept that debuted way back in 2021. Chin took that design and modified it to make it a bit more conventional and production-ready, adding normal door handles, more traditional lighting elements, side mirrors, and wheels, too. Overall, it certainly looks like something that could be revealed soon, which is what we’ve expected from the Lexus TZ for some time now.
Rumors pertaining to the Lexus TZ have swirled for years now, with many expecting it to be sold in various forms – including TZ450e and TZ550e trims (both of which Lexus has already filed trademarks for), along with a potential F Sport variant. It’s expected to share a platform with the forthcoming Toyota bZ5X, and compared favorably in size to the ICE-powered Lexus TX – not to mention the Kia EV9 that it would compete directly with.
It’s unclear what sort of electric motors and battery packs the new TZ will offer, but it stands to reason that the 450e could come equipped with a single motor, while the 550e could utilize two – just like the RZ350e and RZ450e already do. The latter model packs more in the way of range and performance, while the RZ550e F Sport also offers a sportier alternative for those seeking such a thing. Regardless, most expect the Lexus TZ to launch in 2026, so we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to see it in production-ready form.
