2015 Geneva Motor Show: Lexus Will Debut LF-SA Subcompact Concept

According the press release, “the LF-SA concept explores unexpected territories for the brand in a bold and emotional execution.” Bold and emotional, we get.
So what’s unexpected from Lexus? A subcompact.
Our friends at Motor Authority have raised the possibility that the new baby Lexus could be based on a platform as diminutive as the Yaris, which would make it considerably smaller than the marque’s current point of entry, the CT 200h.
Unsurprisingly, the initial press release doesn’t give a lot of info, other than that “the LF-SA concept is also a driver-focused vehicle,” which conjures images of a luxury Mazda 2, and would be pretty tricky to pull off properly.
Lexus US has said previously that the company would not sell a vehicle for under 30k, which would seem to make any production version of the concept a pricey subcompact, which might indicate we won’t see this model stateside.
We’ll know more on March 3rd, so stay tuned.
