I will be doing the front and rear rotors and pads on my 2016 LS 460 AWD using OEM Lexus parts. The rotors and pads are priced reasonably but, the OEM sensors are crazy expensive. Since my brake pad warning light came on I know I need to replace at least one sensor. Can anyone recommend an aftermarket brake sensor that worked well for them? Thanks!
Powerstop has always been pretty good for me. Idk what sensor you have that is out make sure you get the correct wire. I think they are all different part numbers for the FR, FL, RR, and RL wires. (link to powerstop sensor https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...53793&pt=10283). Idk if a Lexus dealer would install non OEM parts, but any indy shop should. If you go independent I'd just have them get their parts because then they should warrantee the work.
For the little extra they cost, sensors are one thing I always use OEM parts for. Doesn't matter the make of the vehicle, after market electrical parts are all problematic to the point it far outweighs the initial cost savings. The labour costs a lot more than the part.
Sure, engine and vehicle system sensors, sure, should probably get OEM. But the brake wear "sensor" is just a wire molded into plastic that checks continuity. When the pads are worn the caliper presses the plastic/wire against the rotor breaking the small wire. The electrical continuity is broken so the car will let you know it's time to change your brake pads. $30 on rockauto, $120 on LPN and $160 at parts (dot) lexus (dot) com. Pick your poision.

Never replaced a brake sensor, but hundreds of other sensors from temp pressure, tpms, abs, wheel spped sensors, ride height, limit sensors, map, maf to O2 and many others. I had many, many issues using aftermarket so I refuse to use them now.
