This article applies to the Lexus IS (2014-2015).

Whether it's a dealership's name and image or a boring stock photo, many Lexus owners prefer to add a personal touch to their car's navigation system by uploading a photo of choice. Here's an overview of how to get your own photo onto the startup screen.

Materials Needed

  • USB stick
  • Desired image(s)

Step 1 - Set up the file directory

Setting up the file directory shouldn't take more than a minute, but it's crucial to make sure you're doing it correctly. Create a directory titled "Image" on the USB stick. To successfully upload the photo on a pre-2014 Lexus, it's important to only name the file "StartupImage" with a capital "I." For the 2014-2015 Lexus IS, name the file "Image."

Step 2 - Place your desired file in the image directory

Select the image you want to upload. Save the image as a ".JPG" or ".JPEG" file in the directory you created in Step 1. Then, put the USB stick into the car's USB port, which is situated in the vehicle's center console armrest cubby.
