Default What am i doing wrong? Need some tire help

I have a 3 gs running 20x8.5 fronts on a 22mm offset on 225/35 and it's rubbing at full turn. Even with a full shave, it'll still touch the fender and the liner. I'm thinking my tires are oversized. Would running a thinner tire fix my issue? 225/30 or 215/35 on a 8.5? Appreciate your input. Thanks

Edwin

For a 20 inch tire youre gonna need to run either a 245/30/20 or a 245/35/20 for a lil cushion

225/30/20 will work but will be very thin. 245/30 might be better. Since there's no 215/35/20

I'm already rubbing with 225/35, wouldn't 245/30 make it even worse?

For 8.5 you can do 215/35 or 40 to get extra cushion. I seen that does 195,but that might stretching too much.

Most likely smaller walls will do the trick,. Id say go for a 225 30.

But remember that different tire brands fit differently so i would probably stick with the same type of tire.

Best you can do is try. I'd say 215/35 is your best bet. Highest rate of success with that size tire on your setup. If you do have some room after that you can always get a larger tire next time around.

You can also heat and remould your liners too, obviously wont help the fender scrape, but should eliminate liner scrub.

smallest they make for a 20" tire is 225/30 unless you want to be a baller and get 215/30/20 from Toyo.

8.5 is a very hard size to stretch, sometimes 215/30 wont stretch decent enough on a 8.5

pictures of your car would help.

What about a 215 30 20 on a 20x9 rim or 20x9.5 how would that look?

Thanks for all your input guys. I thought about switching down to smaller sizes but decided to just raise the front a little and adjust the back accordingly. Although I would love the slammed look, the car being my daily to work is just not logical and professional.

Platinum, here are just a couple of shots after getting the fronts dialed in to where it clears everything
