tire sizing Question
i have a 16*6 wheel, stock on a 2000 es300
what is the best performance tire i can fit on that size-wise?
i want a low profile tire, but i don't wanna hurt my wheels
i have 205/60/16 now
what's the best i can get?
i'm leaning towards a 215/40/16
will that fit?

What is your goal in doing this? With the size you listed, you just lost about 3" off of your wheel diameter. This is not good for the speedo, odo, ... Usually people go low profile because they have upsized their rims and need a tire size with less sidewall to keep the OEM diameter.

i'd rather not drop it really, i have other priorities money-wise
i just want a tire that won't crunch its sidewall during turns, (still on the stock 16*6 rims)
how about this
if i wanted to keep my tire diameter, or at least stay close enough not to throw off my speedo/odo, what should i think about size-wise?
starting with a 205/60/16, what's my best performance size tire that is still speedometer friendly?
