Default Removing stubborn brake rotor?

Trying to remove the front brake rotor. Its been on there for perhaps 12 yrs. (This is on my Camry, not the SC or GS.). Anyone have any techniques for removing stubborn rotors that are rusted to the hubs?

???

TIA

we can't post a question in the Sc forum that's not about an SC, and we can't post a brake question here either, so i am going to send this to the brakes forum.

Scott,

Like what retrodrive said....Keep on hitting the rotor with a hammer. When I changed my rotors on my SC400, it was stubborn too.

I've beaten it with a hammer for an hour... Still no luck. I'm going to try heating the rotor up with a torch to help break it loose. Any other ideas?

Did you try using a bolt in one of the holes in the rotor? There are usually 2 holes that you can screw in a bolt to help remove the rotors. If you didnt try this already.

That's what I was gonna reccomend too. Just keep cranking on those bolts until the rotor breaks loose.

Finally after torch, liquid wrench, pulling the whole hub assembly from the car (removed control arms, steering arm, etc, strut, etc,) this thing finally came loose. I put it on a brick and beat the crap out of it while simultaneously threading two bolts into the holes on either side. Oddly enough the rotor just cracked at the two bolt locations. This warped the rotor hat enough to pry and put more liquid wrench into it. A 3 pound hammer finished it off. Yeesh... a simple 1/2 hr job turned into 6hrs of cussing.... Now on to the other side...
