I know they are not as wide but they look cool. Here is what I am thinking. 225/50-17 tires will fit this rim and give the same diameter as the current 225/55-16 on the car now. This gives the better looks of a 17" wheel, a lower profile tire with the added benefit of a slightly larger sidewall for better ride and noise compared to the 235/45-17. Any thoughts??

Why not just put the 17" GS wheels on the car instead?

Not sure why you'd want to put the narrow IS wheels on - they will probably look like crap (inset).

I don't think you should put IS rims on, they will look akward because they are manly for IS's. They do look good on SC's though.
