18" Rims with 245/45 good idea?
One of the wheels resellers in the neighbourhood is selling brandnew Taiwanese-made 18" rims with Pirelli P6000 245/45 (almost brandnew) for about HKD5,000 (USD600). The looks of the rims are very nice, but what do you think about the quality of Taiwanese rims?
In addition, are 245/18/45 suitable for a GS300? The road here is not always good, and I prefer a relatively comfy ride.

well you are in hk, if you want to avoid car theives i think that's a good idea. i am from hk too and i know some roads aren't that good at all, and if the rims are not of great quality they might bent or crack easily. so my suggestion would be no, if the rims are not forged, a hit would put a crack or even bent it easily

HKGS300, I spoke to a sales person at TireRack and they told me that 245/45R18 on a GS will rub. I bought some 18"x9" wheels that can accept tire sizes up to 245/45R18 but I was told to get 245/40R18 to be as close to the overall diameter of the stock 16's.
