Default Staggered Setup on a GS

aside from not being able to rotate your tires as "much" when all you tires are the same width (4 tires to rotate with), what are the advantages and disadvantages to a staggered setup?

advantages:

Alot better traction and handling especially if your running 20x9/F 20x10/R

It looks soooo much better.

disadvantages:

As you said - tire rotation
expenses...20x10 will cost you more than 20x9

I have a staggered set-up (thanks Bit!) 18x8.5 front 18x9.5 rear. Looks like I have to buy fronts soon, the rears are holding well so I GUESS fronts go before rears. Rear is much harder to lose and you leave a HELLIFIED skid mark if you want to!

1SICKLEX,
i actually like loosing the rear end around corners (skid control off)....so, this being so, perhaps i should go w/ 245's all the way around?

liazon, so your a driver! No, I can still lose my rear, but it is at higher speeds. Plus Kumho tires are not the stickiest, makes it fun when I want it to. I had 245's all the way round on 18x7.5 before I went staggered. The 245s are very fun to lose and drive with.

Dude, the GS can basically overpower the car under or over steer wise!

1SICKLEX ,
excellent. appreciate your experience. i think i will ask around a bit at the tire store but i'm leaning towards 245's all around. ya, i like to DRIVE!. just got my car, finally, yesterday.....straight out to the highway at 120mph....damn, i love this thing! i do think i need to upgrade the brakes though......
i recognize your logo pic. i was a big streetfighter player in the day. could whip about anyone (w/blanka). now its tekken3, which is the coolest fighting game out there in my opinion...i like the way the surroundings interact w/ the fighters. (i don't have a console, btw, because i don't have a tv)
i'm moving to Atlanta in about 2-3 months as soon as i sell my place here in sarasota, the Intown area. i'm coming up in august, probably for all cars meet which i believe is on the 3rd. are you attending that meet? i'd like to meet some people in atlanta for advice and stuff.

Dude, no prob. We got a pretty good bunch of Lexus owners here in the ATL area. And if u need something down here, let me know......

The GS 400 has one of the shortest stopping distances stock of ALL production cars. I upgraded to OEM size cross drilled fronts and I'll have cross drilled/slotted rears installed this week. To me a lil better, maybe cause of the upgraded pads too.

Yeah, we have a big meet on the 13th, a multi-meet on the 3rd and Hit Import Nights on the 16th and the NOPI Nationals Sept 21st.

Like I said, lemme know...
