Anyone have issues with 20's wearing the inside out?
I have a set of 20's on my 2000 gs300 and on all four wheels, the inside of the tire is so worn that a set of 4 month old tires have cords showing through. One mechanic said that the alignment of the car was all off and needed a 4 wheel alignment. But the car did not have issues with the factory wheels. I have a 5th wheel that came with the set and it is also completely worn out on the inside of the tire, and has never been put on my car. It is used as a spare. Is that just a coincidence? Or could there be possibly something wrong with these wheels? They are Halo wheels. Thanks for any help.

did you get an alignment after you fitted the 20s? im assuming you got them 2nd hand and thats why the spare is already worn?
its not rocket science, if you change wheels/tyres like that it will effect the geometry. an aligment is cheap and easy and is all it takes. i very much doubt anything is up with the wheels.
just get them to align it, the thing eating your tyres will the toe, make sure it is corrected..

Um, changing tires does not affect the suspension geometry enough to affect anything as far as wear is concerned... changing to a lower profile, more aggressive fitment will wear faster period though, regardless of how bad the alignment was...
so, even though the alignment was bad to start most likely, it just didn't show up until you put a faster wearing tire on...
long story short, get your car aligned, the toe being out like that is not good for tire wear!
