Default Are Michelin tires somehow weaker?

Potholes all over the place after recent snows - ruined two snow tires with less than 5k miles each. They were Michelin Pilot Alpins. One has a small leak near the rim and the other has a sidewall bulge.

I've never had such issues with other tires. On my M3 I have had Continentals for the past 30k miles with no issues. Stock Bridgestones on my IS 350 are still going strong after 20k mi. Also, on the wife's CLK, she blew out a tire 2 weeks after picking up the car, and you guessed it - they were Michelin PS2.

potholes will do that to any tire if you hit them just right... the leak by the bead area is not the tire more than likely, in fact the wheel is probably bent there if you look closely...

you just have some bad luck...
