Chrome Lexus Wheels
when i bought my car i noticed these were a $2000.00 option. then i realized this was for the DIFFERENCE between the stock wheels and chrome wheels, that's crazy. why do they try to rip off their customers so bad.

Here's some insight on your ?
Dealers are not in th business of chroming wheels, therefore they sub it out. It costs about $150 per wheel for the chrome ($150 x5 wheels-should include the spare)=$750, plus round trip shipping and insurance for 5 wheels at 30 pounds each...about $250...gets you to $1,000 that's dead cost for the dealer...typical markup is 100% on parts to the "regular joe" walking in off the street gets you to $2,000...and then some discount factor if you know them or refer alot of business, or are a body shop etc. You have to remember someone at the dealership has to get these things ready for shipping, has to put the order together...make sure it doesn't get f'd up and they pis$ the customer off, plus there's regular overhead they need to cover for their departments.
Is 100% a fair markup, no probably not, but they are entitled to make a buck and if you were to make a reasonable offer I'm sure they might entertain it. A fact in the car business (not just Lexus) some places are content to make next to nothing on the "metal" (the car itself) because they'll bang you on all the aftersale and financing.
