aspect ratio (profile) mix-match question
Hey guys,
The OEM staggered spec on my car is 255/40/18 and 225/40/18 but I was wondering if it was ok to to mix and match the aspect ratio between my fronts and rears.
I currently have two 225/40/18 for my fronts ready to be installed, but found a good deal on craig's list for two 255/35/18 that I want to install on the rears.
Are there any negative side affects of running two different profiles between the front and rears?

yup... all the electronics in your car - ABS, stability control, traction control, etc depend on the tires having the same ratio diameter front to rear as the factory...
if you go to that smaller diameter tire in the back, the electronics are going to think that the rear is constantly turning faster than the front, which can cause issues....
avoid it... now, you could maybe go 275/35-18, because the diameter is close to the OE 255/40-18
