Blown Tire....
Does FALKEN 452 makes weak tires with weak sidewalls?? I got mine 2 days ago..running the rear 20x9 wheels and one tire blown with 2 holes/opening like a tear...is it because i am running too stretch on the tires? if so, what size would you guys recommend?? Will 275/30/20 solve the problem even tho it is the same thickness but at least wider?? or 265/35/20 on them would be better?? Need an advice soon...going to the tire shop this monday!...

some1 who have a lot of experience in the tire business please chime in...so that i know what to say tomorrow when i go to the shop....thanks!

loss of air pressure, you kept driving on it while it was "low" not flat, causes the sidewall of the tire to overheat, rubber pretty much disintegrates when it gets hot - if you take the tire off the wheel, you will have handfuls of rubber chunks from it coming apart from the inside...
i've been doing this almost 10 years, see it allllll the time...

just an added piece - if anyone has this type of damage, but not as severe - it looks like an indentation in the sidewall of the tire, sometimes to the extent of a groove all the way around... thats evidence of a tire run low on pressure as well, and is not a safe tire to drive on, even if it is holding air currently... with the sidewall weakened like that, its a blowout waiting to happen...

thanks mitsuguy!! so it wasnt the mild stretched fault of hitting pot holes or anything right? because i dun recall hitting a pothole.. so i can say that it is the shop's responsibility for putting a low pressure air or could be Falken's defective tire that already have a small air leak that cause the tire to leak air slowly as time goes by? because they put 45 psi on all 4 tires...btw this tire is only 2 days old with less than 50 miles...but yesterday when the tire blowout, the car is carrying 5 passanger..which may cause the air to leak faster since more pressure and then the tear?? please advice me what i can or should say to the shop tomorrow...?? again thanks alot for the help here...

your problem was either a leaky tire from the factory, a leaky valve stem, corrosion that wasn't properly cleaned off of the wheel when the new tire was installed, or a leaky wheel itself... unfortunately, you may never know the true cause, but with it being only 2 days old, I would hope they would take care of you, any of the three tire companies I've worked for would have replaced it free on the spot... just make sure they dunk it in some water and check the rim bead seat area to ensure no other leaks....

dang...so we will never know what causes it?? ahhh...i hope they will take care of you...its only 2 days...hope for a compensation because the beautiful rims have a freaking small bend now....-_-....i would want them to change the whole set of tires...but i dunno if that is pushing it...lol
