Default Tire repair question

I got a nail in the centre of the tread on one of my rear tires. Took it to lexus and they said that the tire is too big for their machine and they did not want to scratch it up trying to repair the tire. I have aftermarket rims MMR H2 and 275/30/19 tires.

Question:
Is it ok to Plug the tire? Should the repair be done from the inside? I called another tire place and they quoted me $50 to take the tire off and repair it from the inside. (I hate people messin' with my rims... they are bound to scratch them up or damage the tpms)

Thanks

$21.98 at my shop, balance included...

make sure its a proper repair from the inside, patch on the inside, with filler through the tread...

you lose the speed rating of the tire with a repair, however...

A plug is an OK temporary repair on a high performance tire (unless you are actually performance driving). This will give you some time to find a repair shop to do a proper repair from the inside.

remember, even a proper repair still negates the speed rating of a high performance tire, and it is no longer rated for high speed use...
