Default OEM tires fitment on aftermarket wheels... question

I don't know much about wheels and tires so please bare with me.

I own an IS250 with stock 225/40/18 in front and 255/40/18 for the rear. OEM wheels is 18x8 +45mm Fronts and 18x8.5 +50mm Rears. The wheels I want is only available in 18x7.5 with +38mm or +45mm offset.

My questions are:
(1) Would the OEM tires fit the new aftermarket wheels without a problem?
(2) Is 18x7.5 has a too small wheel width?
(3) Is it better to get +38mm fronts and +45mm rears or would the +38mm in the front cause some rubbing?
(4) Or should I just get +45mm in front and rears just to be safe?
(5) Will it change or affect car performance?

Thanks for reading and again, I am pretty new with these stuff. Any help is appreciated.

you shouldn't buy those wheels... going to the narrower wheel will affect the way the vehicle handles in a bad way... you could make it work, but I would never let a customer of mine do that...

^^ Is it really that bad? How about an 18x8 wheels for the front and rear? It's just that the wheel I really like only come in 18x7.5. In your personal opinion, what size wheel would you get while still using the OEM tires? 18x??? with ??? offset?

General rule, unless buying snow fitments, NEVER go narrower than stock...

I would stay close to stock fitment, or an inch or less wider, potentially a slightly lower offset, however... stock works well for a reason... if you are staying with stock tires, your stock wheels are pretty much ideal...

Thanks. I'll try and look for another option then. I hope it's not too difficult though for the kind of wheels I am looking for. Getting 18x8 wheels shouldn't be that bad right? It's about half an inch less for the rears and the same for the fronts.

How about increasing the width of the wheels? I found another wheel I like but only available in 18x7.5 and 18x8.5. I'm thinking of getting the 18x8.5 for both front and rear. What are the chances it will rub? Any downside to that as well? Will the tires need to be stretched out or something?

do you have something against staggered size wheels? there are plenty of manufacturers out there that build staggered size wheels, even on the cheap...

for instance (and this is just because I have a book with their sizing in front of me), but TSW has 6 different wheels available in 18x8 +40 and 18x9 +35, which will fit your car nicely... (Laguna, Vortex, Kyalami, Mondello, Catalunya, and Sakata 5) There are plenty of other manufacturers out there that will have stuff for you as well...

I have nothing against them it's just the kind of wheels I like has pretty narrow wheels. I was looking at the MOMO Corse Ten-S which only comes in 18x7.5. The other one I was looking for is the Ray's G-Games Sidewinder which only comes in 18x7.5 and 18x8.5. If the G-Games came with 18x8, it would have been perfect.

I want to get wheels with a lot of spokes and I'm trying to avoid lips on them. Since I'm sticking to 18's, the lip will make it wheels look a lot smaller. Do you have any suggestions?
