Offsets and *that* look
So I thought I had it down pretty good but now I'm wondering....
I am going to get staggered 18" wheels this spring. I was planning on getting 18x9 245s for the front and 18x10 275s for the back. So far so good.
I want the rear of the car to have a nice "filled" out look and I had thought that a 44 offset would be ideal. After reading some more it sounds like I might want something a bit smaller maybe a 40 or 38 offset to make the wheels fill the wheelwells better. Any first hand experience on what would a) fit and b) look good in these sizes?
Im also now wondering if I should go with an 8 or 8.5" front if I want the rim somewhat protected by the tire or will there still be enough tire "overhang" with a 9" wheel?
Thanks!
Peter

Well I have a +37 on a 9.5" wide wheel (running a 275) and I'm right on the edge...any more and it'd be rubbin' time (and that's NOT ment in a good way). With a +38 offset, you'll be a tick over 5mm OUTWARD from my setup. If you lower it to the point where the rear wheel would tuck (from weight in the back or a speed bump), it would rub.
So I'm thinking, to be safe, get a +43...but even a +40 on a 18" wheel should be OK...
GSNav - With your +41 setup, do you rub at all? Did you roll your fender at all? Have you ever "bottomed out" your rear end?
