Question Has Anyone Run Into This Problem 255's w/20x10 Rim?

I am running 20 inch HRE's by 10inch in the rear on a 2nd gen GS stock height. Tire is a 255/35/20 w/ a mild stretch. I went to a friends house. Before I left my house I looked at my rims and tires, everything looked fine, tire preasure good too. When I got there the tire was really low at 10psi and I didnt hit any pot holes. Figured I picked up a nail or something. Took the rim off. No nail, cracks or damage. The only thing I can think of is that the drive way was really banked so I went really slow and the tire stretched and let air out? What do you guys think? I put the spare tire on and put air back into the HRE and is sitting in my trunk. I'll see what the preasure is in the morning i guess. Hmmmm... really confused.

Whoever installed the tire onto the wheel, may have punctured the silicone seal that is present on your wheel. I've been running a 255/35/20 on the rear of my 20 x 10.5 wheel with no issues. You may want to have your tire shop dunk your wheel in a tank to decipher where the leak is coming from.

Hopes this helps.

Have them send that ish back to HRE, on their dime, so if any warranty issues arise ... you wont get the old "Oh this wheel looks to have been repaired elsewhere" type of comment.

Glad to hear you found the source of the problem.

I have had that issue in the past as well, where a customer calls me all upset, only to find out their installer screwed up the wheels. After all this time, it amazes me that installes still get this wrong!

Good thing you figured it out. I am not really a fan of stretched tires.
