Tire Rack and Lexus dealership
Has anyone had tirerack send tires to a Lexus dealership and have the dealership install them. Lexus has quoted me $85 more per Michelin Pilot Sport A/S than Tire Rack. One of the Lexus dealership part reps told me I could have Tire Rack ship them to the dealership. Has anyone done this successfully?
Thanks

I try to stay away from the dealership myself personally because they tend to charge a little more than outside shops.
Therefore, after careful research and asked my local CL folks who ordered their tires, I went w/ this route:
1. order from tirerack and have the tires shipped to local tire shop that knows about the TPS (if you have them on your rims). Or any local tire shop that you trust and have done work for you before. Usually the tire shop will be in tirerack's database of addresses. Just ask tirerack or your local tire shop to find out.
2. usually ships from 2-4 days depending region. For me, the tires were shipped directly from tireracks warehouse in Reno, NV to NorCal which only took 1 day for overnight delivery to my local tire shop.
3. local tire shop receives the tires and does the install. About $25 to install each tire which included mounting and balancing.
My Michelin Pilot AS were $242/each.
hope this helps....teeman3
