anyone experience any problems while having 20's?
i am in the process of getting some 20 inch Lowenharts for my 00gs, however i acknowledge that their are some issues while having 20's. I dont want to have to deal with all these symptoms such as,
1.bending the fenders in so the rrims will fit ( is this process required)
2. need to upgrade to bigger brake pads( had just bought some new stock brake bads already)
3. bouncy ride (what will i need so it will be smooth as stock)
4. messes with the speed
5. rims rubbing will be annoying
how will 20's look without lowering the car? if i do lower my car, what would you recommend, adjustable springs, coilovers? please add any comments to my list that i have miss. please give me some suggestions or recommendations before i make this decision.

1) not necessarily. it depends on the offsets you get and also how low your car is. if the offset is right, you will only rub slightly if you lower a lot
2) definitely FALSE. you can get light weight 20s and they perform much better than heavy chrome 19s. it's all about the weight and design of the wheels. if you get bad ones, even 17s and you get bad braking. and you can't fit "bigger" pads in the stock calipers anyway
3) if you want it to be smooth as stock, stay with stock. anything bigger you will compromise the ride. but it's wrong to say that ONLY 20s will ahve bad ride. 20s with normal tire setup is just like 19s with normal tires setup, same sidewall
4) your speedo will show speed that's 2-3% slower. that means if it says 60mph, you are going about 62mph. if you say that's messed up, then yeah. but i have been doing that on my gs400 and sc430 for yrs, i don't care
5) again it depends on the offset. if you size it right and don't lower it a lot, you will only rub when you hit big dips, or when you turn the steering wheel full to either right of left. either way i am not annoyed
20s would look bad without lowering imho. to me, i would never put wheels on the car unless it's lowered
i would only recommend coilovers for the car. that's the right way to go. you defnitely dont' want to put on lowering springs with stock shocks

1. Depends on offset
2. No
3. This is a given with 20s. More metal less rubber.
4, 5. Going with even less rubber in conjuction with the right offset will fix these.
20s look bad (IMO) without lowering. And if you lower and you have the cash, coilovers all the way.

if i do get 20's, are coilovers the only thing i need?...
ok with 20s your ride quality will never be the same, what if i put back on the stock rims for the winter time, will the ride quality ever the same?
