Default HELP! Need Break Pads

Does anyone know where I can buy quality break pads? The dealer would charge $1000 to replace the front and back pads on our 02 LS. A local shop will do the same thing at a much lower price. I just need to get my own break pads. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Don't know where the sell break pads, but the forum you are in, "TIRE RACK" sells excellent brake pads. I just bought mine for the SC. Cost $72.00 total for fron and back + shipping. takes about 30-45 minutes to change pads only. DIY

mkorsu,
Did you buy the Akebono’s ProACT™ Ceramic Disc Pads? I saw this one on tirerack.com. But it only has front fitment. What kind did you get for your SC? How long have you had them? Thanks!

No, I was originally was going to go with EBC Greenstuff front pads, but I encountered the same issue you did....front pads only. I ended up going with Satisfied Brake Pads. I know that Satisfied makes quality pads and I just got the OEM material. Since I plan on doing a BBK in the somewhat near future, made no sense to pay extra for something that will just be taken off soon anyway.

I only just put my pads on this past Saturday and it feels GREAT!!! I was getting so used to the worn pads, I forgot how the car SHOULD stop! And it only took me about 2 hours total for the job, and that included cigarette and beer breaks, and an oil change.

My suggestion, see if Tire Rack Offers the Satisfied pads, and enjoy a nice weekend afternoon changing your pads.
