Stock 16inch rims-Fatter tires

Can you run bigger than the 225/55/16s on the stock 16 inch rims?(Stock 01 GS430). If so what size?

I would guess you could run a 245/50/16 vitrually the same overall height. I'm not sure if it is too wide for the 7.5" rim however.

Did that

I ran 245s on my 16s when I first got my GS. They fit fine on the 7.5, protected the rims too. You do get some additional sidewall roll when running them hard in a turn; however, the added rubber on the road still makes them handle better IMHO.

Looks much better in the fender wells too.
