Rubbing
Hi all,
I have a question relating the rubbing of my GS. After the RSR lowering spring and fitting the VFS-2's my car rubs. It hits the plastic, what are they called, extensions at the side of the wheel housing of the front wheels. When you put your hand between the fender and the tire and feel the inside of the plastic wheelhousing, you'll feel at a certain stage a protruding bit of plastic. The tire hits that.
What is the best way to deal with that? Bending with a bit of heat, will that work? Or did you guys sort this out differently?
Can you please tell me how you solved this. Thanks in advance!

Update,
Bending the plastic with a heatgun dit most of the trick. There is still a little rubbing in the rear. Next week there will be a set of bump stoppers installed on the rear shocks. That should sort the last bit out.

Car looks great man! I'm running into the same rear rubbing issue after installing the rsr down's and 20" vossen wheels. It only happens when I drive over larger dips in the road though.. Please let me know if you come up with a solution

Yes, large dips in the road. That is also my issue. I am serously scared of hitting a ditch like that doing 260kph on the Autobahn.
Anyway, these bumpstops were adviced: http://eibach.com/america/en/motorsp...ries/bumpstops
Anyone having experience with this?

What you are most likely rubbing on isnt the plastic linear itself, but more so the bracket which holds the front bumper on. This was a common issue with the 2IS Chassis, which was remedied with the following modifcation:
There are multiple way of doing the tab modification, here is another members approach at the issue:
Hope this helps!

It's not the springs. Many of us are using them without issue. There seems to be occasional problems with the standard Vossen wheel offsets.

I didn't rub at all for the first 4-5 months the springs were on. Once they "settled" they are too soft for me and rub the fender on any decent bumps. If I have my small kids in the back then it's over... It rubs every bump

An update. Today the car is in for the bumstop solution and I received this image back:
Not something I like to see. Right rear shock is busted....
So far the RSR downsus lowered my GS450h f-sport 6.5cm instead of the 3-4cm claimed on their website. This was the main reason for my rubbing issues. Which of course helped a lot towards the shock failure.
