2006 GS body or suspension noise?
Since new my '06 GS had most of the usual creaks, crackles and tapping noises that are all too familiar with GS owners. My car's spent a lot of time at the dealer fixing these problems. Of course moving to the south with warmer temperatures really helped with the noises. However, some of them still reappear on cold mornings.
But the car still has one consistent noise that annoys me, but it may just be the design of the car. When going over slightly rough or bumpy surfaces, there is a noise from the passenger side. I can only describe it as sound like the body panels were not firmly attached. Maybe a suspension noise. It could just be the way the car rides and handles over rough pavements. It's not a noise that comes and goes, it there all the time. It doesn't feel solid. I mentioned it once to my dealer and they said they don't hear anything unusual.
I know this is very vague, but I can't really describe it well. It's a sound unlike any noise I've heard before with any car. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Thanks.
Dave

Front Struts Replaced
I took my GS in for the never ending usual dash noises as well as the problem I described below. The dealer found the cause of the thumping noise and it was the struts. Both front struts were replaced and finally, after at least 1 year of living with the odd thumping noises, the problem is solved. I have about 41K miles on the car.
As to the dash noises, the noise could not be duplicated. Argghh!
