With my previous vehicles there have been bushings or something that when replace help improve straight line acceleration. Are there any known tricks with our suspension that can help? I just put new tires on my car and they just don't seem to cut it in first gear and I'd prefer to address traction with changes in suspension over buying tires again.

Do you have stock suspension right now? I'd suggest an aftermarket coilover to adjust ride height and adjust dampening.

What tires do you have in the rear right now?

It was lowered when I bought the car, I don't know what springs. I am planning on getting coilovers and sway bars next year. Current tires are 255 pilot sport a/s 3 and they seem nice and all, but I can spin them in first if I try. I was kind of hoping there was a recommendation for some aftermarket control arms or something like that.

Besides better max summer tires and the coilovers, there's nothing really more that could help. Well, you can reduce the psi in the tires to like 30-32; it'll increase the tire's contact patch SLIGHTLY and will net you SLIGHTLY worse MPGs.

Yeah, I noticed today that my tires seem to be over inflated, haven't checked the psi but it looks like a fair bit of the outside of the tires aren't touching the road. I'll just deflate the tires until the contact patch looks right. It still seems like there should be something else with the suspension that could help, however I haven't experienced wheel hop or anything related to softer bushings and I'm not so sure much can be done with the geometry of the IRS so maybe Toyota just got it right the first time.

Never experienced wheel hop? Ever been to a drag strip and launched while foot braking it above 1500 rpms? It'll do it then! LOL! I fix that with loosening up the dampening a bit more on my coilovers. I found my sweet spot on my BCRs are about click #8 away from FULL SOFT.

Well to be honest I haven't really beat on the car all that much. I have played a bit more this last week or so with the new tire setup and have learned that the car has horrible under steer an that I wish I had gone with a 245/275 setup instead of the 225/255. My next plan with the car is to address the suspension, it is obvious that the car needs it, especially after getting these tires.

A larger front tire definitely is a good upgrade. I've found a 255/265 is the sweet spot for the car's power output and handling.

So I think I found my problem or at least a part of it. I have a bit of rear camber and I am losing about 3/4-1in worth of contact on the outside of each tire. The car was lowered when I bought the car and I'm going to assume this isn't helping me. How much can be corrected with the OEM rear setup and if I can't get it are there any recommended aftermarket solutions?

So do you want max contact patch while cornering or during acceleration? Because I LOVE both, I compromised and have Megan camber arms to help adjust the amount of camber to give me that sweet spot.

What size front tire can you have before they start rubbing? 235, 245? I wish the setup was a square 245, that would be nice. The base 330i that I thought about looking at is square w 225, seem like a little under tired in the rear for a car that w.eighs 3400 and has 255hp
